WIMA Presents ENOUGH - A conversation about assault and supporting survivors in our communities.

A night of art, music, spoken word, conversation, and zero tolerance in our community.

WIMA is proud to host this very important and much needed event to End Rape Culture and to help raise awareness in the art community about this problem and what we can do about it. It is also a supportive and empowering place for survivors who would like to speak out, share stories, and find out about local resources. Finally, it is a place for allies to join with survivors and say ENOUGH

What is rape culture? It is a culture in which rape is pervasive and normalized due to societal attitudes about gender, sex, and sexuality. There are many different aspects of society that contribute to rape culture including (but not limited to): victim blaming, rape jokes, transphobia, normalizing rape/gender based violence/stalking, slut shaming, silenceing survivors, racism, misogny, misogynoir, objectification, sexualization of violence, the existance of defemation laws and police violence, lack of education around consent, intimate partner violence (of all realms), abelism, violence toward and in the LGBTQ+ community, and sexist media messages/repressentation.

This event is a safe space for survivors and inclusive of all gender identity, sexual orientations, and abilities.
D-Beatstro is an accessible space!
We will also have available volunteer active listners for people attending who would like to share their stories. These listeners are also present to support anyone who may become triggered by the event, as these discussions are triggering!

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local rape crisis centre of our choosing (will cast a vote on this page)
